Torch relay

We had the incredible privilege of witnessing the torch relay in Lethbridge today. What an amazing experience. It’s so cool to see your community come together and celebrate like that. The kids were less than impressed, not understanding the uniqueness of the moment even though we tried to explain it to them  They were good sports about it and hung in there as we waited for the torch on the street and then again at Henderson where the cauldron was being lit. There were tonnes of people there, lots of free stuff – we got flags, tambourines, lights and bottles of coke. We were pretty excited when we found out that Hippodrome was performing at the end of the celebrations so we stayed for that. V got into the funk music and was bopping up and down with us After that, we watched a bit of the fireworks show (which was better than our Canada Day celebration, by the way) before heading home for dinner. What a great day!

V’s Birthday

Our little girl is SEVEN!!!! We can’t believe it, how time flies! What an amazing little girl we have been blessed with. On Friday we started the celebration with gifts. She got a lot of fun stuff for her birthday – a puppet kit, fabric, Tinkerbell movie, UP, Bendaroos, a couple of really cute outfits, an adding machine, some playmobil to complete her castle set and a sewing machine. So far she’s sewn a bag for shopping that folds up into itself. She’s pretty excited about being able able to put her new stuff in there when she’s shopping. On Saturday we picked up her friend and we all went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and then we headed over to the Cheesecake for dinner. Then Karl headed off to the church for sound and us girls headed home for the evening for another movie /pyjama party. It was a great evening – there was lots of giggling going on so it must have been fun

A delightful family
