Torch relay
We had the incredible privilege of witnessing the torch relay in Lethbridge today. What an amazing experience. It’s so cool to see your community come together and celebrate like that. The kids were less than impressed, not understanding the uniqueness of the moment even though we tried to explain it to themĀ
They were good sports about it and hung in there as we waited for the torch on the street and then again at Henderson where the cauldron was being lit. There were tonnes of people there, lots of free stuff – we got flags, tambourines, lights and bottles of coke. We were pretty excited when we found out that Hippodrome was performing at the end of the celebrations so we stayed for that. V got into the funk music and was bopping up and down with us
After that, we watched a bit of the fireworks show (which was better than our Canada Day celebration, by the way) before heading home for dinner. What a great day!
